Marriage proposal at first sight

In a private party I was sitting quietly. A young woman wearing a saree was dancing. She caught my attention as her facial symmetry was very similar to Hindi television soap star Rashmi Desai. Although her dance wasn’t elegant enough but I being Rashmi Desai’s fan wasn’t able to take my eyes off her. Fortuitously our eyes met. I felt shy & awkward & decided to not gaze at her again.

After some seconds I felt that she may have gaped at me. This feeling made me gape at her. I was astonished to have got the right perception at the right time. I found her gaping at me several times. I felt that maybe she knew me but I was sure to have seen her for the first time.

 After a while she started dancing close to me. I wondered whether it was love at first sight for both of us. Suddenly she dropped her phone. In a theatrical style I was quick enough to go down near her feet & pick her phone up. She was shocked by my agility & alertness. She then asked me to hold it so that she can dance carelessly. I was surprised to have found her trusting me as I was unknown to her. I even pondered whether she deliberately dropped her phone.

After a while her dance moves that weren’t so elegant earlier became very vivacious. I felt that she was trying to impress me. During her dance many times our eyes met. She showed me the love I had never seen. It was getting late & I decided to leave but I had to return her phone before leaving. As the music was loud I felt that she won’t be able to hear my voice. I used my hand to ask her to collect her phone. Shyly she came near me. On a chair I was sitting & she turned up close to me. Her eye pupils looked larger than normal. I got drowned in her eyes. The music was loud, I called her close. She brought her ear near my face & I whispered in her ear “शादी कर लो मुझसे” i.e. “Marry me”.

She got extremely exhilarated. For a while I was surprised as I demanded a woman to marry for the first time without knowing her name. Also I didn't ask her for something small but demanded her to take a big decision. Smiling shyly & covering her face with her hands she went to her female friends & pointed her hands towards me & told them what I had said to her. She looked very joyous as if she was over the moon.

Honestly I wasn’t drunk or intoxicated. I wasn’t able to believe that love or madness happens so fast. She wasn’t able to take her eyes off me while I was leaving. I felt that she doesn't want me to leave & wanted me to hug her but maybe my shyness or ego stopped me to do it.

Reflection: -

My marriage proposal may sound too preposterous. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to express their marriage proposal so soon to an unknown person without even knowing their name. In my case I was extremely lucky to not have got a slap from that unknown woman. Also as it happened while she was dancing & I felt that she was in a highly exhilarated state of mind. This may have made the unknown woman take my marriage proposal demand as a joke or as a constructive compliment or may have found me cute to tolerate me or may have indeed fallen in love with me.
