Many people respect Ravana’s dignity & believe that due
to his dignity he never got close to Goddess Sita & expected Goddess Sita
to eventually fall in love with him. Many have even made messages & have
circulated it amongst millions of people.
Today on Maharishi Valmiki’s Jayanti the author of Ramayana
I’m sharing some facts that will help understand what made Ravana stay away
from Goddess Sita.
Goddess Sita was daughter of Goddess Earth. Had Ravana ever
got close to Goddess Sita then Goddess Earth would have destroyed his Lankan
empire by causing an earthquake. Ravana knew this thus he never got close to
Goddess Sita.
Goddess Sita herself could have called for help from her
mother Goddess Earth however she preferred to remain patient as she wanted the
world to know that her husband Lord Rama is a great warrior.
Lord Rama wasn’t allowed to become the emperor of Ayodhya by
his step mother Kaikeiy. His step mother wanted Lord Rama to spend 14 years in
exhile so that her son Bharat that was younger to Lord Rama could become the
emperor in Lord Rama’s absence.
To prove that Lord Rama deserved to be an emperor as he was
the most powerful warrior then Goddess Sita patiently waited for Lord Rama to
rescue her.
