I’ve been travelling from Santacruz to Govandi & from Govandi to Santacruz by train since around 2 years being a student of TISS which is located in Deonar in Govandi.

While returning home to Santacruz I took a train from Govandi the train’s timing was 7:37 pm. I got down at Kurla station & then took a train for Dadar & the train’s timing was 7:47 pm. After getting down at Dadar I took a train for Santacruz & the train’s timing was 7:57 pm.

I found it amusing as nothing like this had happened in around 2 years of my journey & on my last official day something like this happened. I’ll remember this day as it was my last official day as a student of TISS, something like this had never happened in the last 2 years & 737, 747 & 757 are the famous airliners of Boeing.

Rough morning on a batch photo shoot day

A class photo shoot for batch (TISS MA Counselling 2011-2013) was scheduled today. I didn’t know the batch photo shoot’s timing & didn’t feel like disturbing any of my batch mates to know its timing hence I didn’t phone call anyone. I thought of reaching early to TISS & asking my batch mates about the timings rather than phone calling anyone.

Thus I woke up early & left home early in the morning & while leaving I realised that I can get a Harbour train that will help me reach TISS soon. I started running to catch that Harbour train as its frequency isn’t that good. Unfortunately my left shoe’s lace got untied as they were too long. When I went to tie it I got a phone call from one of my batch mates. I didn’t ignore it as she had called early in the morning & I thought that it maybe something important. I answered her call & although I wasn’t in a mood to speak with her that time being in a hurry I spoke patiently & also lied that I was free. This made her give her phone to her parents with whom I also spoke. As I had phone in one hand & was speaking with her parents I was extremely nervous & fully concentrated this made me unable to tie my shoelace during the phone call. Without tying my shoelace I wasn’t able to move as I feared falling on my photo shoot day. I was standing near a pole & a crow did something which I don’t feel like mentioning as I don’t doubt your imagination.

My shirt got spoilt some hours before the photo shoot. I remained serene as I didn’t want my female friend to know that I’m in a hurry & what has happened to me as she phone called me at the wrong time. I even spoke to her parents nicely for some time & eventually realised that I’ve missed the Harbour train.

After the call got over I tied my shoelace & returned home. After returning home I untied my shoelace, removed my shoes, took off my clothes, took bath & wore another shirt. My plan to reach TISS early failed but I was unperturbed as I believe that whatever happens; happens for the good.

Human fulfilment & pleasing friends especially female friends is indeed a tough task but gives some gratification.

Free Rickshaw ride

On my way to Ambedkar Bhawan inside University of Mumbai a Rickshaw Driver asked me if he could drop me. I was already inside the University of Mumbai & Ambedkar Bhawan was just a 5 minutes walk. I told the Rickshaw driver that I don’t wish to take your service. The Rickshaw driver insisted me to sit & promised me that he wouldn’t charge. I hesitantly took the ride as I didn’t feel like ignoring his proposal. While dropping me he told that he won’t lose anything if he’ll drop someone for free as he’s also going the same way. I felt as some people are so courteous, generous, helpful & thoughtful to strangers, maybe I was lucky. Finally he dropped me & moved on.

Although these incidents happen many times at many places but someone whose profession’s demand is to get passengers & to drop them to their destiny for earning money giving free service to a stranger is very rare isn’t it? Also many times I’ve asked Rickshaw drivers to drop me to a particular destination & although they’ve to follow but they’ve declined.
