Why Goddess Sita being an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi suffered

Goddess Sita though being Goddess lived life of a normal woman & acted like a normal woman. Just like other women she got emotional & wasn’t able to think analytically or use logic at times. Some mistakes she did were

1. She once told Lord Ram that “O Rama! You will go to Ayodhya & will marry several ladies since you are the king. But I will die here in your memory” Thus she committed something wrong by devaluing Lord Ram’s love for her & also doubted Lord Ram’s faith as Lord Ram had sworn to never  take any other woman as His wife. Lord Ram was always most faithful to Goddess Sita. Yet Goddess Sita raised doubts on Lord Ram’s love.

2. In an incident demon Mareecha cried for help imitating Rama’s voice. Goddess Sita thought that Lord Ram was in danger and asked Lakshaman to go & help. Lakshman was aware that it was a trick of Mareecha & refused to go. He insisted on staying by Goddess Sita, as he ordered by Rama to protect Goddess Sita.

Goddess Sita wasn’t able to think analytically & got emotional & her emotions overpowered her analytical mind & thus she scolded Lakshman as a characterless person, who was attracted to her. Thus she abused Lakshman who was a very pure person & considered his brother Lord Ram as GOD.

Thus Goddess Sita had to suffer being in captive of Ravana & this washed her wrong sayings & she was able to reach Vaikuntha without having to go to hell to clean her sins. Goddess Sita was incarnation of Maha Lakshmi & so it wouldn’t have looked proper had she gone to hell for punishment that she deserved for her statements.

Not being a friend

It’s not unusual for people to start considering other’s as their brother or sisters or close friend. It’s not bad when done without any ulterior motive however many do it to get their work done or to feel secured or to depend or rely on others perhaps as our society has become so fast paced.

My parents wanted to behave like a friend to me however I never liked their idea & wanted them to behave like my parents. I felt that parents must behave like parents & as it often created a void in me. In my opinion when parents behave like friends at times children take them for granted & parents also overlook their responsibilities of being the most caring & protective person.

I’ve worked as a Druggist, translator, Psychologist, Accountant & these professions made me interact with many & thus many were quick to make me a part of their family or a brother or close friend. However I never liked this practise as when I’ve maintained distance it has made me obliged to not take anybody for granted or ask for help or disturb or distract others for my benefits.

I’ve practised lay Psychoanalysis & in it I had learnt to have a mother infant relationship with clients & even before practising it or learning Psychoanalysis I used to have a feeling to treat others like GOD. This transition in me began when my parents started behaving like my friends & to make them behave like my parents I used to give them utmost respect & treat like GOD to me. I try my best to come across others as good person or the best person they’ve met in terms of humbleness, kindness, politeness, respectfulness & this I was able to do as I never considered them my brother or sister or a friend. I’m able to give them more respect as I consider them as meeting them for the first time. When we make others our relatives or close friends then many times we get judgemental about them. I believe that by not befriending others one can give others more respect & maintain relationships healthier as one won’t judge others or think wrong or immoral about them & won’t also have unrealistic expectations from them.

Waiting for tonight – Jennifer Lopez

16 years ago Jennifer Lopez sung & shot the video song “Waiting for tonight” – The song got released in November 1999. The song was specially designed for Y2K or year 2000 as believed to be a new beginning as on calendar we all were supposed to stop using 19…

The song still continues to be a big hit in discos & gets played in many countries on the night of 31st December.

I wonder Jennifer Lopez had sung “when I would be there in your arms” instead of “when you would be here in my arms” being a woman. :)

Even I’ve loved this song especially the sound of trumpet played in the middle & in the end are indeed mesmerising.

Gemstones

Many times Astrologers, Palmists, Psychic healers, Tarot Card readers, etc. suggest their clients to wear one or many gemstones. Gemstone industry is a big market & many spend a lot of money to purchase & wear it. Many times many even get cheated by purchasing artificial stones instead of real gemstones.

Many believe that gemstones have the power to change a person’s life. Many believe & state that the negative rays of a particular planet gets reflected by a gemstone or a gemstone attracts positive rays of a planet or converts negative rays of a planet into positive rays.

There are many people that practise Astrology, Palmistry, etc. genuinely & never ask their clients to wear any particular gemstone however many ask. Nowadays people trust or prefer to visit such Astrologers, Palmists or Psychic healers that suggest to wear some gemstones.

I’ve practised Astrology & Palmistry for around 8 years & with my experience I can state that gemstones don’t have any power to attract or reflect rays of a particular planet or convert bad rays of a particular planet into good rays.

However many people around the globe have found it beneficial & their life got changed after wearing it. It can be just due to coincidence. Psychologically when a person wears a gemstone she/he gets a positive feeling & feels confidence & due to the confidence she/he is able to take good decisions. You must’ve noticed that when one isn’t confident she/he takes many wrong decisions. Thus wearing it can motivate. Also when a person spends money to purchase it (as such gemstones are expensive) she/he constantly thinks about it & also gets a feeling of something positive must happen & thus she/he tries hard to achieve something or accomplish something. It’s just like a placebo effect of a drug.

Also different colours affect us differently, for example restaurants prefer to write their name in Red as seeing red can make a person feel hungry. Ruby red in colour when a person wears it, it can make a person have better digestion or make her/him eat more. Many wear white as it’s connected to simplicity or peace. Thus pearl white in colour when worn can bring about peace of mind or decrease anxiety or excitability. Some gemstones can also have negative effects like Red coral red in colour & red is connected to passion & aggressiveness can make a person very intensely passionate when not required or aggressive when even when situations can be handled or sorted out easily or politely. Thus various gemstones affect a person’s mind or bring different thoughts in a person’s mind differently due to their different colour.

However apart from placebo effect gemstones don’t have any miraculous powers to change a person’s destiny. I’ve read many Hindu sacred texts (Puranas, Gita, Shrimad Bhagvatam, Vedas, etc) nowhere I found appreciation of gemstone or it’s uses. No Purana has information about the benefits of wearing any gemstone or gemstone helping people to overcome adversaries or miseries or ward off future setbacks or trouble. In Ramayana Lord Rama wasn’t suggested to wear any particular gemstone by sage Agastya to slay Ravana & win Goddess Sita. Lord Krishna never suggested Pandavas to wear any particular gemstone when they were going through a tough time or to win the battle against the Kauravas. Nowhere it’s mentioned that Goddess Kathyayani wore any particular gemstone to kill Mahisasura.

Thus in my personal humble opinion one mustn’t spend her/his hard earned money to purchase such gemstones. She/he must boost her/his mind by following a good lifestyle by doing Yoga, Pranayama, exercises daily, eat healthy food & stay away from negative thoughts or elements. One must believe in karma & hard work & put forth all her/his efforts to achieve something with hard & smart work rather than getting carried away by the thought of gemstones to do miracles.

Advantages & disadvantages of rough tiles on bathroom floor

Bathroom is generally slippery thus to prevent slipping it’s indeed a good idea to use rough tiles instead of smooth ones however a disadvantage is that water doesn’t flow through it smoothly & many times it looks annoying as dirt too remains accumulated & have to use a lot of water to get rid of the dirt.

Why Ravana never got close to Goddess Sita

Many people respect Ravana’s dignity & believe that due to his dignity he never got close to Goddess Sita & expected Goddess Sita to eventually fall in love with him. Many have even made messages & have circulated it amongst millions of people.

Today on Maharishi Valmiki’s Jayanti the author of Ramayana I’m sharing some facts that will help understand what made Ravana stay away from Goddess Sita.

Goddess Sita was daughter of Goddess Earth. Had Ravana ever got close to Goddess Sita then Goddess Earth would have destroyed his Lankan empire by causing an earthquake. Ravana knew this thus he never got close to Goddess Sita.

Goddess Sita herself could have called for help from her mother Goddess Earth however she preferred to remain patient as she wanted the world to know that her husband Lord Rama is a great warrior.

Lord Rama wasn’t allowed to become the emperor of Ayodhya by his step mother Kaikeiy. His step mother wanted Lord Rama to spend 14 years in exhile so that her son Bharat that was younger to Lord Rama could become the emperor in Lord Rama’s absence.

To prove that Lord Rama deserved to be an emperor as he was the most powerful warrior then Goddess Sita patiently waited for Lord Rama to rescue her.

Why people eat bananas after meals / Salt (Sodium) & sensibility

Salt chemically is NaCl i.e. 1 Atom of Sodium (Na) & 1 Atom of Chlorine (Cl). Table salt constitutes of Sodium, Chlorine & Iodine. Iodine is mixed in table salt in a very small quantity as mostly all humans mix table salt in their food so all humans can easily get iodine for the proper functioning of their thyroid gland.

Table salt approximately constitutes of 40 to 45 % sodium. Sodium is required by body for the proper functioning nerves & for nerves to properly send signals. When nerves properly send signals then muscles function properly. Sodium attracts water thus it also helps in regulating body fluids. When the level of water is less in body sodium helps to retain it & prevents dehydration or if sodium levels are high then body retains water to dilute the excess sodium.  If sodium levels increases & this keeps happening daily for a long period then its consequences are severe.

It’s the function of kidneys to excrete the excess sodium from body by producing more urine. Sodium also promotes excretion of calcium a vital mineral for the bones & excess of calcium excretion can cause bones to become brittle & there are also chances of kidney stones due to calcium.

When the quantity of sodium is too high then it becomes difficult for kidneys to excrete it & as I mentioned above sodium attracts water & due to the excess sodium in body fluid retention can happen. Due to fluid retention heart has to put more efforts to circulate the blood throughout the body & this increases strain on arteries. If this continues to happen for a long time then the arteries become less elastic.

As per WHO’s guidelines an adult shouldn’t consume more than 2000 mg of Sodium per day. 2000 mg sodium is approximately 5 grams of salt.

Mostly people don’t use salt for the proper functioning of the body & even don’t know the side effects of excess sodium in body. They just use it for enhancing the taste of food. Food served in restaurants & eateries generally contains more salt than normal to make the food tastier. Most of the people that cook food in restaurants & those that eat it aren’t aware of the side effects of excess sodium. The just enjoy their food & keep visiting those restaurants or eateries as they relish it. Many people eat many dishes at once when they visit restaurants. Many dishes means taking much salt as all dishes have some salt.

Some restaurants know the side effects of excess sodium hence they generally use less salt in food & serve salt in a small container for those that want to relish their food with extra salt. However this habit isn’t also good. Salt is hydrophyllic so it draws moisture of the food ingredients & thus the taste & aromas of different ingredients get mixed together when salt is cooked with them. Adding salt once the food is cooked only gives psychological satisfaction however doesn’t enhance the taste of food.

Some salt companies produce low sodium salts & those that are fond of eating salt too much should go for it.

Potassium is also a vital element like sodium; however unlike Sodium Potassium doesn’t cause water retention. Both are electrolytes. If 1 knows that she/he has taken sodium in excess then it will make sense for her/him to add some potassium to her/his stomach as body has an ability to release excess sodium it held if the potassium levels rise. Bananas are rich source of potassium that’s why there has been a trend amongst some people of eating bananas after meals.

Which hand of lover should one hold?

Our brain has many hemispheres & there are many ways to study the different hemispheres. One way of studying the different hemisphere is by dividing it into 2 i.e. left & right.

Majority of the world population are right handed. For the right handed people the right hemisphere of the brain deals with creativity, emotions, imagination, intuition, memory, non-verbal skills, etc. The left hemisphere of the brain deals with abstract thoughts, calculations, logic, reading, writing, etc.

The left hemisphere controls the right side of the body i.e. right hand, right legs. The right hemisphere controls the left side of the body i.e. left hand, left leg.

As I had mentioned above majority of the world population are right handed a lover’s left hand should be held. It will stimulate the right hemisphere of the brain that deals with creativity, emotions, memory, etc. & these aspects are connected to love.

If lover is left handed then her/his right hand should be held.

Triple H to achieve goals

With Triple H I mean that 3 tendencies beginning with the letter H can help to achieve goals or resolutions. The 3 H are Happiness, Hard-work & Humour. I’ve written the 3 H in alphabetical order for some the order can be different.

Many think that by achieving goals or resolutions or by becoming successful or by reaching any target or finding love or a great job or fame 1 will be happy. However it works the other way around. Happiness is the prerequisite to achieve goals or resolutions or to reach any target or to find love or a great job or fame.

When 1 is happy she/he gets more positive thoughts & mind is positive. A positive mind can help achieve goals or resolutions. People get attracted to happy people thus happy people are able to find love, get a job & even get popularity or fame. You may have noticed that 1 can enjoy food when she/he is happy. 1 makes many promises when she/he is happy. Happiness enhances health. A happy mind has more immunity strength or better functioning of white blood cells than an unhappy mind. Thus happiness boosts health. If health is good then 1 can work well to achieve her/his goals, resolutions, do well at job, relationship & can even become popular or get fame.

Globalisation, Increase in population & decrease of natural resources has made the world more competitive than ever. In my opinion currently we have cutthroat competition in all fields. I haven’t met a single person that has been successful without hard-work. Many get a great job however they aren’t able to remain at that job as they aren’t able to work hard. Hard work is not only required at job but also in all walks of life. A person that tries hard in her/his relationship will be able to sustain it. Similarly a hard working person will be able to keep his fame. When 1 works hard she/he remains focussed on her/his work & that focus keeps negative thoughts or daydreams at bay. 2 people making same resolution – 1 hard working & other hardly working. In my opinion the hard working person is more likely to conquer her/his resolution than a hardly working person.

Humour is a great mechanism to keep negative thoughts at bay. Humorous people are more likely to forget failures or past struggles & forgive others. They are able to create jokes on self or laugh at their own mistakes & the negative energy just disappears. Many people waste much of their life’s time & energy by dwelling in their past life. I don’t mean to state that dwelling into past is bad however persistently thinking about it doesn’t let 1 move ahead or progress. A humorous mind is also more creative than others. Due to their creative nature they get more ideas than normal to achieve their goals or resolutions or targets. Their ability to laugh on self helps them forget pain or humiliation. When negative incidents get masked a person is able to focus on present & thus can hard-work move ahead. Humorous people are also more likely to attract others & thus can find love, popularity or fame.

How to pray or why Aarti or Chalisa or Mantras or Stutis don’t work

Many people pray daily to GOD & get dejected as they don’t get the desired results or when they feel that their prayers weren’t answered. Prayers are indeed very powerful tool to attain something that’s required & possible to attain.

GOD indeed grants those wishes that are good & manageable for those that pray provided 1’s wishes are pious or noble.

Many people recite Aartis, Chalisas, Mantras daily however their wishes don’t get granted. They start believing that prayers don’t work & also share their views of their prayers not working to their friends. In my personal humble opinion prayers have positive energy & are capable to give the right direction to 1 that prays ardently. Prayers only don’t work as people don’t pray in the right way.

Many generally pray when their situation isn’t good. The 1st thought 1 need to bring in her/his mind is accept her/his situation or position in life. She/he needs to understand that whatever she/he’s today or wherever she/he’s today it’s because of her past birth & this birth’s karmas & deeds. Hence she/he should immediately stop grumbling about her/his present position or life’s situation. Grumbling may help to vent frustration however it limits the power of prayers as GOD prefers to grant wishes of those that call him/her with love & not with grumble.

It’s also necessary to be practical & understand that work or duty is significant with prayers. Prayers alone won’t help to get whatever is wished. For example in Ramayana GOD Ram didn’t get back GODDESS Sita with just prayers. He entered the battle field with prayers. Similarly in Mahabharata the Pandavas didn’t win against Kauravas with just prayers. They had a plan or strategy to win & entered the battle. The Pandavas also used to practice. Thus 1 must know her/his role, duty & work & should also focus on it & think about attaining it with prayers & not just pray quitting her/his path leads to whatever is wished.

An important factor is time or best time to pray. The best time to pray is between 3:00 am to 6:00 am. It’s known as the Brahma Muhrat. It’s the time when mostly everyone around nearby sleeps & vehicle & transport noise is less. Thus it’s a peaceful time. Thus 1 must get up at around 3:00 am finish her/his morning rituals like brushing, bathing, etc. And between 4:00 am to 6:00 am she/he can pray.

Also beginning day with prayers is better than praying in the afternoon or night. It’s because when 1 prays in the afternoon or evening the thoughts of the day easily enter while praying & thus the concentration or focus decreases. However when 1 begins her/his day with prayers early in the morning before sun rise then she/he is less likely to get other thoughts & mind won’t get diverted due to disturbances.

An important thing I’ve observed is that many people though remember Aartis, Chalisas, Mantras exactly however they don’t known it’s meaning. Aartis, Chalisas, Stutis are appreciation to GOD thus while reciting Aartis, Chalisas, Stutis 1 needs to visualise those appreciation consciously & it’s impossible to visualise it when 1 doesn’t know it’s meaning. Thus before reciting any Aarti, Chalisa or Stuti 1 should find it’s meaning & understand it completely & while reciting Aarti, Chalisa or Stuti she/he should visualise the appreciation. The appreciation should also be highly intense & with full concentration & undivided attention or focus.

Almost all the Aartis, Chalisas, Stutis, Mantras aren’t in Hindi language & are in Sanskrit. There are many that don’t understand Sanskrit however are keen to pray. An easy way is to get the translation of the Aarti or Chalisa or Stuti whatever 1 is interested in & recite the translated version. In my personal humble opinion reading the translated version is better than just reciting Aarti, Chalisa or Stuti without knowing it’s meaning & without any devotional feelings for the GOD for whom it’s recited.

While reciting a mantra for example the simplest mantra is "Om Namah Shivaya" thus while reciting this mantra 1 needs to understand it & visualise it i.e. 1 must visualise God Shiv or Shiv Ling & her/him bowing to Shiv or Shiv Ling as Namah means bowing with respect or showing adoration or gratitude.

While reciting mantras 1 should pronounce the words of the mantras properly. The syllables should be right. It’s better to recite it for the right number of times i.e. 108 times or 1008 times. The munis, rishis, sadhus & sadhvis are born to pray & they pray in forest or hills or isolated places & wear anything that they want to however for a household woman/man it’s significant to be fresh by taking bath before prayers. It’s better if stomach is empty & hair is properly combed. 1 must have separate clothes for Puja/prayers & she/he should wear those clothes & pray & not use those clothes for other purpose. The clothes should be clean. The place of worship should also be clean & no ants crawling around. 1 can light a diya (lamp).

One also has to follow a pious lifestyle while praying. She/he under no circumstance must kill any living being. She/he must abstain from non-veg food/hard-drinks. She/he shouldn’t cheat, forge, lie, steal. She/he should remain serene & not avoid unnecessary arguments or conflicts & abstain from using or hearing profane words. She/he should abstain from sensual entertainment or pleasure & bodily decoration. If followed properly for around 60 days then boon will be granted so in between 1 shouldn’t lose faith & remain patient & have faith.

If 1 follows the above techniques & prays ardently for around 2 months then her/his wishes if pious/noble & something that’s possible, not bad for her/him or for society then the boon certainly gets granted.

Some songs with guitar strums I’m fond of

Below are some songs that I’ve been fond of due to the great guitar strums used in them.

1. Song ‘Subah Subah’ from Hindi movie I see you released in 2006. The music was composed by Vishal Dadlani & Shekhar Ravjiani. The song ‘Subah Subah’ begins with a guitar strum & features Bollywood Badshah or Mr. Khan playing a guitar on the streets of perhaps London. The song was sung by Zubeen Garg. The mood type of the song is happy. The best lines I liked were by English man & in the guitar strum when he sings.

2. Guitar sound from the song ‘10 million slaves’ in the movie English movie Public Enemies released in 2009. The song was composed by Otis Taylor & it featured in the album Respect the dead. The song starts with a great guitar strum & this strum was used in the movie. The best I felt when the guitar strums from this song begins & features British actor Christian Bale.

3. Song ‘Jao Na’ from the Hindi movie What’s your Rashee released in 2009. The music was composed by Sohail Sen & the song too was sung by him. The strums of guitar can give some boost to any lazy person.
