Why having something sweet isn’t a healthy choice after having meals

Many people like to have something sweet after meals.

Have you ever wondered why they crave to have something sweet or a sweet dish after having meals?

When stomach is empty or if nothing is eaten for long then blood glucose level gets low.

After having something blood glucose level rises. The sudden rise in blood glucose level within a short time makes brain think that something isn’t normal & it brings it down instantly.

Thus glucose level drops.

If stomach is full then one may be unable to have food again so brain sends signals to have something sweet to bring up glucose level.

To avoid this food should be eaten slowly & chewed properly.

For many having a sweet dish after meals is pleasurable but it isn’t a healthy habit as the sweet dish goes in the small intestine & before its digestion process begins it remains in small intestine for around 3 hrs which isn’t so good for body.

If one can’t control having something sweet or a sweet dish after meals then he/she can chew fennel seeds after food or have green tea or use a mouthwash.
