Mint marks on Indian coins

Coins in India are minted in Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad & Noida. One can know where a coin was minted by observing a mark on it.

Coins minted in Kolkata have no mark under their print year



Coins minted in Hyderabad have a star shaped mark under their print year

  
Coins minted in Mumbai have a diamond shaped mark under their print year


 Coins minted in Noida have a dot mark under their print year

 
Indian Coins also used to get minted outside India 


Coins minted in Birmingham used to have letter H under their print year


Coins minted in Canada (Ottawa) used to have letter C written below their print year


Coins minted in Korea used to have a Taegu Korea star below the print year either below the first or last digit of their print year



Coins minted in Slovakia (Kremnica) used to have MK written in circle below their print year


Coins minted in London used to have a diamond shaped mark under the first digit of their print year


Coins minted in Mexico used to have O below their print year & M below O, it meant OM


Coins minted in Moscow used to have MMD written in oval form
